I was looking at the Dobies of Devon web site and spotted the asparagus knife pictured here. Now I’m not an asparagus fan so I had never considered that such a specialist tool existed.
It has a 25cm (10″) curving, serrated, ‘sickle’ steel blade and a wooden handle. Dobies describe it as “The perfect instrument for cutting asparagus cleanly below ground level“.
Dobies also have a cheaper Harvesting and Asparagus Knife on their web site. They describe this knife as “Ideal for cutting cabbages and courgettes, trimming leeks, and general kitchen garden and allotment use“.
